The prefabrication, transportation and erection of the 812-hole T-shaped beam for China-Laos railway was prefabricated and erected by China Railway No.2 Engineering Group on January 26, marking the completion of the Boten-Vientiane section of the China-Laos railway.
China Railway No.2 Engineering Group is the contractor building the beam bridge making plants in Vientiane and Muang Xay. The plant in Vientiane is tasked with prefabricating, transporting and erecting a 510-hole T-shaped beam of VI standard for the Boten-Vientiane section of the China-Laos railway. All beams were erected on August 11, 2020. The beam making plant in Muang Xay was tasked with prefabricating, transporting and erecting a 302-hole T-shaped beam of LC-2 standard for the project. All beams were prefabricated on August 5, 2020.
In Laos, the China-Laos railway starts from Boten, a border city, in the north and ends at the country’s capital Vientiane. The total length is 422.4 kilometers. The construction of the project began in December 2016 and is expected to be open to traffic in December 2021.(By Duan Yunchuan and Zang Heng)
